Saved by a day!

According to the Hindu calendar, which follows the lunar calendar and hence is the same as the Chinese calendar, my birthday falls a day after “Basant Panchmi”. Now you must be wondering what does this hae to do with being saved by a day..

Well it follows that when a child is born on “Krishna Janmashtmi”, he/ she is named Krishna. When a kid is born on “Ganesh Chaturthi”, he is named Ganesh, Vinayak and the kind. I think you get the drift. So a son born on “Basant Panchmi” would be called Basant and a daughter would be called Basanti!

OMG imagine living as Basanti in the 21st centaury.. Especially after the movie Sholay. The poor girl would foreer be called as “Basanti tange wali”. Or image hearing “Basanti I love you”, “Basanti weds Hritihik” and the best “Basanti Sriavastava”..

I thank God for pushing me out a day later and saving me the embarrassment of living the Basanti life.

On that note I’ll like to wish Darren and myself Happy Lunar Calendar Birthday!

(2 days left to my Roman calendar birthday.. *wooohooo* )
