mera sabse phela baacha......

the cutest thing to rock my world

the smile on her face never fails to make my day

my partner in crime, far too many times

i could not have achieved many things without her on my side

mess with her, and you answer to me

grew so big, she towers over me

but a child for me she'll always be

i wish i could carry her in my arms, shield her from all the harm

there not enough words in the world to explain the relation i share with my darling darling sister.

to the world she is rimjhim but to me she is, was and will always be paru. being 3 years, 6 months and 1 day older than her i have always been protective of my little sister. its a different matter that now she towers over me and looks down! *grin*

i really fail to explain what i feel, many times i make her weep. its not something i like, its just the werid person i am. life is bleak without her around. although she can make me wanna pull my hair out when she IS around.

she's my baby, she really is. no matter where she goes or where didi is. i love her to bits with all my heart. hurts me to see her shed even a single tear. if i had it, i'll protect her from her every fear.

she is crazy, oh i can't tell you how! but then can't blame her cause who is not. she's my sister and i am proud of her. i'll even fight her battles for her. all she needs is to holler my name, didi will be there at her beck and call.

i was travelling on the train and some words came to me.. i'll write them here for her to see. i hope she knows just how much she means to me.

Meri bahen mera para baacha hai,
Choti bahen hai isliye aur bhi accha hai

Larte hain, jhagarte hain
Lekin pyaar bhi hum bahut karte hain

Yaad hai mujhe uska pyara sa chota sa chera,
Uske muhlayam muhlayam haat,
Uski ek hasi jispe hoon main aaj bhi fida

Didi hoon main par nachaya usne bhi hai,
Khub ghoomaya aur hukhm chalaya bhi hai

Mera baacha kitna bhi bada ho gaye,
Door woh jitna bhi chala gaye,
Didi ke liye woh rahegi hamesa chotisi, pyarisi Paru beta

and one more....

Bahene zindagi main fariste hoti hain,
Choti bahene toh aur bhi pyari hoti hain

Pareshan karti hain, Marti aur daati hain
Lekin apni masaomiyat se dil ko pigla bhi deti hain

Chahe hum jitna laren, chahe hum kitna bhi door rahen
Bahen toh aankhon ka tara hoti hain, jeena ka sahara hoti hain

Bahene zindagi main fariste hoti hain

Straight from the heart

hume jinse pyaar hai
jinke liye humari jaan hai,

unse he humari pehchan hai
unke bina hum kya hai,

The elegance of Umrao Jaan

Lucknow, the romantic city of Nawabs… Lucknow, the land of unmatched etiquette, wit and sophistication; enviable style, valor and emotional intelligence; incredible art, fashion and entertainment. Indeed, whether it is history, architecture, sports, handicrafts, music or dance, Lucknow has its very own story to tell.

“Courtesan…Poetess… Temptress …! Friend…Lover…Giver…!Many names……one special woman……Umrao Jaan ! ”

“He was a bandit who looted and victimized…And one day, it was he who was robbed of his most precious possession.”

“Life for her was like the game of chess. With the kings, the queens and the pawns. The pawns were many, the queen just one - She! ”

A pathan – a rebel with a passion for beauty and poetry.

“ Luft hai kaun si kahani mein…Aap beeti kahun ki jag beeti”
(“What story will be more absorbing…?How the world in which I lived, faredOr what fate hath held in store for me.”)
- Umrao Jaan Ada

A courtesan and a poetess in her own right, Umrao Jaan was a name to be reckoned with in any description of life in Avadh. If Lucknow was the heart of Avadh, Umrao was the heart beat.

why people don't see me?

understanding yourself itself is a mammoth task, we all agree with this. but what is a tougher task is getting others to understand you for what you are.

the world we are living in today does not allow for you to exist as a "normal" person if you are yourself all the time. it is demanded from us to be seen in a certain way.

"you're bubbly! how can you write something so deep??"

"you're such a quiet person. it amazed me to see you being so talkative and exuberant with your friends."

"i thought you were so arrogant when i first saw you. you used to walk with your head held high. Now i realise you are just a confident person."

i often wonder why it is not possible for a person to have many sides to themselves. why can i be a happy, bubbly person who can write deep philosophical talk. why is a person put into a character and expected to fit into that 24 X 7.

the only reason i am writing this entry is because i am one such person who has many levels to me. i have many facets to me. but this does not mean i put up a facade when i am a "different" self at different times. i am always me. its just that i feel comfortable being a certain way with certain people or in different settings.

i have come to make peace with the fact that no matter how much i try, there are going to be people who are not ever going to understand me. maybe there will not even be a single soul, maybe there will be many. i have been extremely blessed to have one person who can understand me better than myself. nevertheless it does not affect me no matter what people perceive of me or which character or personality they put me into, i am me and nothing can take me away from myself. as long as i know who i am and stay true to myself i have no qualms about what people think of me. it is simply not in me to please people. following my previous post, journey of life, in the end i answer to myself. and for me being sincere and myself in all situations is what i am about.

an example of whatever i have talked about above can be seen in this very blog post. i have no idea how many people can make sense of whatever i have penned down. i'm not sure if i even make logical sense to anyone. but this is who i am, and i am not about to change this post to simply allow others to understand "me".

people come into your life for a reason......

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person.

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn. They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it, it is real. But only for a season.!

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

What are words?

what are words?
nothing but mere pawns in our quest to express what is hidden deep within us
if whats within us can be expressed in the most beautiful of ways which do not involve words, is that a crime?
so why do people dream to see things in black and white or chase for that moment when the emotions are verbalised?
the ink on the paper can fade, the sound of the words spoken can disappear into the nothingness of life
but that which is deep within us will always remain
truly blessed are the people who can understand and appreciate these emotions without having them explicitly expressed

Things we can learn from Dil Chahta Hai...

Things we can learn from Dil Chahta Hai .......

*Freaking out and enjoying life doesn't need drugs or cigarettes.
*There are relationships apart from bf/gf, marriage, siblings, friendship that can
be very emotional and true. which is beyond the understanding of many
people.
*And yeah even though u may be the best of friends there is always a limit
which should never be crossed. Then it starts hurting...........
*Improving ur imperfections after you realize it, always take some time.
*You always don't need to show or prove your gf/bf how much u love or care about her/him, which can sound very boring and finally u r dumped.
*Believe in Love , true love will never let you down
*Never be ashamed to go back to your old friends, friends are there to
understand your mistakes.
*Do not be afraid of others, always think that others r afraid of
you.(Australian Beggar )
*Whenever you need your friend , remember that he is just a phone call
away...distances can't separate friends
*In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence
of our friends
*It's the friends you can call up at 4 A. M. that matter.
*The only unchangeable certainty is that nothing is certain or unchangeable.
*The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with -
never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversations you've ever had.

The journey of life

No one knows what the future holds
but we know the future holds a lot for each and everyone of us
we just have to wait and watch
no use in cribbing or stressing about it
all in good time, as they say

We can never say which way life will go,
what it leads to
we can simply enjoy the journey
be on the alert at all times, cause ignorance is bliss only in dreams
hold the reins to try to counter the negative externalities on the way
take some risks but only when they seem to make a teeny weeny bit of sense
smell the flowers along the way
don't feel shy to enjoy the air

Each turn on the journey will bring with it something new
some times good, other times bad
either way you'll learn something
the trick is in being open to whatever life brings in front of you at that turn
its no use closing your eyes, cause you'll only crash and hurt
to learn you have to embrace everything with open arms,
so what if you have to kick it out with tears later on?

We each have one life
its up to us to make the most of it
no matter what we tell ourselves, its our choice
at the end of the journey we answer to no one but ourselves
so why do we shy away from living our lives the way we want for ourselves
don't forget the people around you,
god might have littered your life with thorns together with the roses
it is these very people who hold your hand when you walk bloody feet,
it is them who stand at the side with those silent smiles, watching you smell the roses

But most importantly don't forget yourself,
the special someone god created to live this life
the strength each one of us has within us to be someone
someone who we will be proud to be
someone who god will be proud to have created

Be true to yourself
for there is no bigger joy in life

only one person can do this...

there are some..no very very few things in life that can get me to react in the following manner. there are even fewer people who can do these things. they are special and forever etched into memory.....

a slow smile appears on my face..
a smile that starts on the face but spreads to my heart, to the very depths of my heart.
it warms the whole body and lights up my eyes.

a simple one liner...

this is a very simple and short line that i came across. it touched me somewhere deep inside. i'll like to share it with all of you.

Simplicity of character is the natural result of profound thought

Enticement

you live your life in contentment
living each day as it comes, liking the way things are
you live in your cocoon of happiness
suddenly before you can guard yourself and your happiness,
you get enticed
you never realised your need for the object enticing you
but now you know,
and you want it
the fact that you see hope of getting it excites you
you put your 100% into getting it
just as suddenly as you got enticed,
you are cut off
the hope shatters
you do the practical thing
you go back to your "old" life
back to contentment
back to happiness

difference between "someone you love and someone you like"

But in front of the person you like, you get happy.
In front of the person you love, winter seems like spring.
But in front of the person you like, winter is just beautiful winter.
if you look into the eyes of the one you love, you blush.
But if you look into the eyes of the one you like, you smile.
In front of the person you love, you can't say everything on your mind.
But in front of the person you like, you can.
In front of the person you love, you tend to get shy.
But in front of the person you like, you can show your own self.
you can't look straight into the eyes of the one you love.
But you can always smile into the eyes of the one you like.
When the one you love is crying, you cry with them.
But when the one you like is crying, you end up comforting.
The feeling of love starts from the eye.
But the feeling of like starts from the ear.
So if you stop liking a person you used to like, all you need to do is cover your ears.
But If you try to close your eyes, love turns into a drop of tear and remains in your heart forever
