Enticement

you live your life in contentment
living each day as it comes, liking the way things are
you live in your cocoon of happiness
suddenly before you can guard yourself and your happiness,
you get enticed
you never realised your need for the object enticing you
but now you know,
and you want it
the fact that you see hope of getting it excites you
you put your 100% into getting it
just as suddenly as you got enticed,
you are cut off
the hope shatters
you do the practical thing
you go back to your "old" life
back to contentment
back to happiness
