A line close to my heart

Om Shanti Om was playing on TV on Saturday and after a fairly long time I heard the following dialogue from the movie..

"Itni shiddat se maine tumhe paane ki koshish ki hai ki har zarre ne mujhe tumse milane ki koshish ki hai....kehte hai agar kisi cheez ko dil se chaaho toh poori kaynath tumhein usse milane ki koshish mein lag jaati hai."

I absolutely love this line from that cheesy movie. Its the motivational quote equivalent, Bollywood ishtayle..

I have to say this is something I adhere by in my life though I also believe in working for what I want until I get it. Why shy from working for something you want, leaving everyone else to work for it?

U Me aur Hum

Date Watched: 14th April 2008
Venue Watched: Jade
Watched With: Elizabeth
Rating: 4/6
My 2-cents worth: The first half of the movie is crap, its a torture to watch and utterly boring. Ajay Devgan has this penchant for close ups. The entire movie was filled with irritating close-ups. The make up on Kajol for her old age was not very well done either. you could see the old age lines running at the side of her mouth, really weird.
The 2nd half makes more sense though its not top notch. Kajol's acting in the 2nd half is commendable. I'll say watch the movie on DVD or TV but don't waste your money going to the theater.

“We are so much better at and happier doing non academic stuff”

“We are so much better at and happier doing non academic stuff” said one of my friends. She was referring to how we manage the SMU Indian Cultural Society (a club so Indian in its ways that even the Indians would be ashamed at its Indianess. More of that in another post).

There is so much truth in this statement. Yet the fact that this statement came from a student pursing her Bachelor’s degree it is very disturbing. Or is it?

I wish I could stop studying something I have no interest in and pursue my dream of becoming a dance choreographer..

I simply love to dance. As I say, I love to dance and dance to live. What is left in life without dance, music or rhythm? Dance has passion, expression and freedom. Dance is empowering, dance is exhilarating, dance is humbling, dance is embracing yourself and letting the world see through your eyes.
