My 2-cents worth: A few small yet important incidences from the book have not been portrayed well, not developed deep enough or simply not been shown in the movie. Results in patchy progress of the story at times. Though I guess only those who read the book would see these differences. One example is how Rehaan Khan finds out about the incident. This fact has not been explained well in the movie though it is so critical further on in the story.
